It won't reach 70 degrees this week which thrills this Yankee girl! I arrived at the end of the 71st Lilac Festival; so named because Lilac trees and bushes of all colors are prolific here. These sunny days are going to allow them to burst into full bloom.

A highlight of the parade is the
Scottville Clown Band. The group includes trained musicians who dress ridiculously and entertain the crowds with their music, costumes and movements.
The Native American influence is big on Mackinac Island.
